Description | Ernest J. Morris, alumnus of the University of Chicago (Ph.B., 1915) and former member of the Varsity Track Team, is pictured on Maine's highest peak, Mount Katahdin, the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. Beginning at the trail's southern end in Georgia, Mr. Morris hiked part of the way in 1972, and completed the journey in 1975, perhaps the oldest man to do so. |
